Music theatre professor Jeremy Mossman earned the Julie Wilson Cabaret Award for his cabaret, “This is How I feel, This is What I Think.” He recently performed at the 2019 SaraSolo Festival in Sarasota, Florida, which features unique and highly professional solo or small ensemble acts. The festival invites cabaret and one-actor performances to the stage representing various genres and topics.

The Julie Wilson Cabaret Award is presented annually through the Mabel Mercer Foundation to recognize rising cabaret stars, in memory of famed cabaret singer Julie Wilson.

Prof. Mossman’s show, “This is How I Feel, This is What I Think”, is a sung-through song cycle that tells a deeply personal story of love, loss, and life through the music of American composer and songwriter John Bucchino. Prof. Mossman’s performance utilizes Bucchino’s lush melodies and striking lyrics as if from his own experiences. Prof. Mossman performed his award-winning cabaret at Carthage this past fall.
