Taylor Woitesek ?24 The Health and Counseling Center is proud to announce sophomore Taylor Woitesek ’24 and Dennis Munk, professor of psychological science and education, as winners of this year’s Mental Health Advocate Award.

In its inaugural year, this award is presented to members of the Carthage community who exemplify advocacy for Carthage student mental health. Advocacy is defined as behavior taken to address systemic barriers facing students individually, in groups, or as a whole population (ACA Advocacy Competencies, 2018).

Dennis Munk Both Taylor and Prof. Munk received multiple nominations illustrating the work they do with individuals and groups to increase student connection to mental health resources, increase knowledge about mental health, and reduce stigma.

The Health and Counseling Center received several nominations for this year’s Mental Health Advocate Award. We want to thank the entire campus community for advocating for mental health!
