“I plan to complete the 3+2 Master of Arts in Athletic Training program at Carthage. Then I plan to go to physician’s assistant school to become a PA. I am specifically interested in being a physician assistant in orthopedics and sports medicine.”
How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?
“All of the faculty have been helpful and supportive during my first year at Carthage. I am beginning to create relationships with faculty which will help me have the best college experience I can have.”
“My favorite class at Carthage so far has been my Intro to Athletic Training class. This class gave me my first look into my career. It also gave me an opportunity to meet my peers who are also in the allied health science major.”
“So far, none of my classes have been too tough. I have enjoyed all of them, and all of my professors have also been great!”
Favorite moments and memories at Carthage
“My friends and I like to explore Kenosha and the surrounding area. One time, we walked four miles to get to the lighthouse downtown. I am excited to continue making memories during my time at Carthage.”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite spot on campus is anywhere by the lake. I enjoy sitting in the red chairs and doing homework while looking out at the lake.”
Biggest surprise so far
“The biggest surprise is that college is not a scary as I perceived it to be. I was nervous at first, but quickly transitioned into college life.”
What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?
“My 8-year-old self would be happy with my current career path. I have always been fascinated with the human body and how it works. I knew from a young age that I wanted to go into a medical profession.”
Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?
“The allied health science major will prepare you for your professional life. Something unique to Carthage is the jump-start experiences. These give first-year students the opportunity to learn hands-on skills that will help them later in life. It is important to start building relationships with the faculty because networking is everything.”
“I chose Carthage because of the small class sizes which allow me to create relationships with my professors. Plus, the location is ideal right between Milwaukee and Chicago.”
