Carthage has more than 130 student clubs and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform customer service. See a full list of Carthage student organizations on The Harbor, our website for student organizations.

Chinese Club

Chinese Club meets every few weeks to enjoy Chinese culture, practice Chinese, and help each other with homework. Each year, club members visit Chicago’s Chinatown to enjoy authentic Chinese food and practice Chinese with natives. Chinese Club members also learn about pop culture in China, study ancient culture, and learn about holidays like Spring Festival and National Day. The club is currently exploring volunteer opportunities teaching Chinese to local second-graders.

Alpha Mu Gamma

Alpha Mu Gamma is the National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society. The organization promotes language studies, cultural events, and community outreach. AMG offers many scholarships and is a great networking tool. Members attend the National Alpha Mu Gamma Conference and plan events for National Foreign Language Week.

International Friendship Society

International Friendship Society promotes diversity and cultural awareness on campus by hosting a variety of public events that include international food, music, dance, and more. The organization brings together international students studying at Carthage with American students in order to encourage cultural exchanges. The club’s most important event is the annual International Dinner, which raises money for a selected international nonprofit organization.
