To earn a Bachelor of Arts in Data Science from Carthage, students must complete the Carthage Core, Distribution Requirements, and the data science major requirements listed below. 

The data science major is composed of 50 credits.

Applied Concentration

In addition, every data science major, in consultation with a faculty mentor, will design and complete a three-course (12 credits) applied concentration. These concentrations need to be approved by the chair of the Mathematics Department.

The data science minor consists of six courses (24 credits) and can be paired with any major. Housed in the Mathematics Department, the interdisciplinary program also offers courses in computer science, business management, economics, social work, and geospatial science.

  • GEO 3610 involves applying either desktop or web GIS mapping and analytical skills to real-world projects
