“こんにちは! I am Rena Shimizu from Saitama, Japan. Saitama is located right above Tokyo, and my hometown is a nice quiet place. I graduated with an environmental science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Nature is my energy source, so I am thrilled to have this wonderful language/culture-sharing experience with the beautiful view of Lake Michigan. One of my hobbies is to talk and engage with people, so please speak to me anytime. I’d be happy to share my stories and hear yours. I hope to see you all!”

Natsumi Suzuki

Natsumi Suzuki (Japan)

“こんにちは (Konniciwa, Hello!) I am Natsumi, the Japanese TLE from Tokyo. I majored in Japanese Language Education. Before I came here, I taught Japanese to international students in a Japanese language school and supported immigrant children facing language difficulties. I am so excited to teach Japanese and to share Japanese culture. Also, I would like to get to know other cultures. Why don’t we share our languages and culture? I particularly want to try new foods, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know! I’m looking forward to having two beautiful years at Carthage and meeting all of you! よろしくおねがいします!”
