The Carthage Treble Choir is a choral ensemble of over forty singers which performs music from all genres of choral literature — medieval through 21st century; sacred and secular; as well as arrangements of folk songs, pop and jazz, and music from around the world.

Under the direction of Dr. Peter Dennee, the group toured both internationally and nationally. Recent national tours of the Treble Choir include Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, and Virginia. Internationally, the choir has performed in Austria, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Tanzania, Slovakia. In January of 2023, the choir toured Slovenia and Austria.

The Carthage Treble Choir has developed a strong reputation throughout the region as a model for choral excellence. In addition to multiple appearances at the Wisconsin state music educator’s conference, the choir also performed by invitation at the North Central Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association in 2016. This choir has premiered several new works for treble choir including Ola Gjeilo’s “I Rise!” premiered in 2010 at the Wisconsin State Music Conference. A special focus of the ensemble is championing new works by female-identifying composers.

Membership in the choir is by individual audition. Beginning in Fall 2023, this ensemble will be directed by Dr. Maggie Burk.
