Scholarships

Carthage offers a number of competitive scholarships to photography minors.
Students may apply for scholarships on November 19, 2022, and February 11, 18, and 25, 2023. In-person and virtual portfolio reviews are available. Due to COVID-19, reviews may switch from an in-person format to a virtual format. Please be prepared for this possibility. If you are visiting the College at another time before Feb. 25, please contact us at carthageart@carthage.edu to set up an alternate time.
Note: students entering midyear should apply for a scholarship in November. The results of all interviews and portfolio reviews will be included in the applicant’s financial aid package developed in March by Student Financial Services or in December/January for students entering midyear.
To apply, review the details for each section below and then use the online application form. You will receive a confirmation with review details from carthageart@carthage.edu.
Photography scholarships are awarded based upon a review of the applicant’s art portfolio by members of the Photography and Film and New Media faculty. You will discuss your artwork with a faculty member, answering questions about your ideas, materials, process, and aspirations as a developing photographer and artist. If you are on campus for your review you will tour the program’s facilities.
