Carthage offers a major and minor in sociology. To earn a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Carthage, students must complete the Carthage Core, Distribution Requirements, and the sociology major requirements listed below.


Sociology Major

The sociology major consists of 36 credit hours, including a 4-hour senior seminar.

An additional 16 credits of electives are required for the sociology major.

Sociology Minor

The sociology minor consists of 20 credits.

In addition to the required core, students must complete 2 courses (8 credits) designated SOC 2000 or higher (see list of frequently offered courses above).
