2019-20 Meal Plan

Carthage offers the following meal plans for residential and commuter students. Meals are available in the all-you-can-eat cafeteria and at any vendor on campus, including Starbucks, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and the new grab-and-go lunch venue in Lentz Hall called Lentz Do Lunch. Students can sign up for their meal plan through My.Carthage.edu during the check-in process.

Residential Student Meal Plans

Resident Standard Meal Plan

70 points per week x 33 weeks + 900 flexible points per year = 3,210 available points per year

The Caf features multiple food stations.Under the Standard Meal Plan, each residential student will receive a total of 3,210 points during the academic year. Each week, 70 points will be added to a residential student’s ID card in a combination of cafeteria points and anywhere points. Each cafeteria meal costs 5.5 points.

Of the 70 weekly points, freshmen will receive 66 cafeteria points to use in either The Caf or Lentz Do Lunch. These 66 cafeteria points buy 12 meals per week. The remaining four points will be anywhere points and may be used at other food vendors on campus.

Of the 70 weekly points, sophomores will receive 44 points, or eight meals, to use in The Caf or Lentz Do Lunch. The remaining 26 points will be anywhere points and may be used at other food vendors on campus.

All junior and senior points will be anywhere points, and they can use these points at any food vendor or in The Caf. The weekly points can only be used during the week that they are added to the ID card. However, up to 35 unused anywhere points will be carried over to the following week. Any additional anywhere points beyond the 35 that are carried over will expire at the end of each week.

An additional 900 non-refundable flexible points are also added to a student’s ID card yearly — 450 points at the beginning of the fall semester and 450 points at the beginning of the spring semester. Flexible points can be used at any food vendor on campus. At the end of the fall semester, unused flexible points will be added to students’ non-refundable flexible point total at the beginning of the spring semester. Any unused flexible points will expire at the end of the academic year. All points are non-refundable.

Resident Premium Meal Plan

90 points per week x 33 weeks + 1,000 flexible points = 3,970 available points

Carthage also offers a premium dining plan. The premium plan offers 90 points per week (instead of 70) and 1,000 flexible points per year (instead of 900), for a total of 3,970 points per academic year. Of the 90 weekly points, freshmen will receive 66 cafeteria points (12 meals) to use in The Caf of Lentz Do Lunch, and will have 24 anywhere points to use at other food vendors on campus. Sophomores will receive 44 cafeteria points (eight meals) to use in The Caf or Lentz Do Lunch, and will have 46 anywhere points to use at other food vendors on campus. Flexible points can be used at any food vendor on campus.

All junior and senior points will be anywhere points, and they can use these points at any food vendor or in The Caf.

The weekly points can be used only during the week that they are added to the card. However, up to 35 unused anywhere points will be carried over to the following week. Any additional anywhere points beyond the 35 that are carried over will expire at the end of each week.

At the end of the fall semester, unused flexible points will be added to their non-refundable flexible point total at the beginning of the spring semester. Any unused points will expire at the end of the academic year.
