Carthage College fraternities and sororities recruit new members every fall and spring. Fall Recruitment happens in September. Spring Recruitment happens in February.
Recruitment is only open to students with second-semester freshman or higher class status. First-semester freshmen are not eligible to join a social fraternity or sorority in the fall semester. Interested students must meet a GPA requirement of at least 2.0. Some chapters have higher GPA requirements, and students are encouraged to inquire about requirements at recruitment events.
Fall 2017 Fraternity Recruitment
Fraternity recruitment will take place Sept. 18-20. Men and women (for a co-ed fraternity) who are interested in joining a fraternity should be on the look-out for advertisements for times and location of fraternity recruitment events. It is strongly encouraged that students attend multiple events to determine their best fit within an organization.
Monday, Sept. 18
5 to 6:30 p.m.: Tau Kappa Epsilon, President: Charles Hilt
7 to 8:30 p.m.: Phi Kappa Sigma, President: Bryce Novak
Tuesday, Sept. 19
5 to 6:30 p.m.: Delta Upsilon, President: Owen Myers
7 to 8:30 p.m.:Delta Omega Nu, President: Chase Bowlin
All parties will be located in Woh’s Place located in the lower level of the Todd Wehr Center.
Fall 2017 Sorority Recruitment
Sorority recruitment is held Sept. 15-17. All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to attend the following recruitment events. Check The Bridge for specific party information or contact the presidents below. Please note that fall transfer and first-year students are only able to participate in Spring Recruitment. Women are encouraged to attend multiple events to learn about the organizations and determine their best fit.
Friday, Sept. 15
5:30 to 7 p.m.: Sigma Alpha Chi, President: Rachel Miller
7:30 to 9 p.m.: Zeta Tau Sigma, President: Jacqueline Gurney

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Sigma Omega Sigma, President: Cristina Cavallo
1:30 to 3 p.m.: Kappa Phi Eta, President: Abby Valentino
3:30 to 5 p.m.: Delta Theta Epsilon, President: Sarah Chapelau
