Commencement

Information for Families

We’re excited to welcome you to campus to celebrate your graduate’s Commencement! Please read the information below for more details on how we’re keeping our Commencement safe.

#StaySafeCarthage Guidelines

All graduates and ticketed guests will be required to wear a face mask and follow physical distancing procedures throughout the entire Commencement weekend. Segmented arrival, limiting time in enclosed spaces, and keeping guests with graduates in pods are some of the ways of keeping the Commencement Procession as safe as possible.

Visit the #StaySafeCarthage website for more information and details about safety protocols graduates and guests will be expected to follow.

Ticketing

All graduates are allowed five ticketed guests during the Commencement Procession. Each guest will remain with their graduate throughout the duration of the events in a “graduation pod” in observance of social distancing and #StaySafeCarthage guidelines.

Tickets will be emailed directly to all 2020 graduates. Tickets cannot be sent directly to family members or guests. It will be up to the graduates to share digital tickets among their five allocated guests.

If a graduate does not need all five of their allotted tickets, they may not be shared or given to other graduates due to social distancing and #StaySafeCarthage guidelines. All tickets will be specific to each graduate’s student ID number in order to aid in any potential contact tracing efforts after the Commencement ceremony. All children, including infants, require a ticket. Unfortunately, additional tickets will not be available for any reason.

An event live stream will be available to view for all events for those family and guests that cannot attend in-person. Live stream the event

Restricted Mobility

Accommodations for graduates and guests with restricted mobility include an alternative procession route and limited handicap seating for those unable to complete the route. Handicap seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis in each assigned segmented arrival time. If you’ll need a limited mobility ticket, please complete our request form
