Select spaces are available without catering. Please note food deliveries, restaurants, food trucks or carts, and other caterers are not permitted at Carthage. All catering is provided by the College’s dining service provider, Parkhurst Dining.
We have a preferred vendor list for all your event needs. You may choose from vendors on this list or bring in other vendors of your choosing with our approval.
All beverages must be provided by the College’s dining service provider, Parkhurst Dining.
If you are hosting an outdoor event, Carthage always provides rain-contingency plans. Any tent or outdoor rental fees are non-refundable and will still be included on your final invoice, along with an additional labor fee for re-setting the indoor space. 24-hour notice must be provided if relocating an event indoors.
Parkhurst Dining is a custom caterer with thousands of recipes, and they can do almost anything. We can help you create a unique and eclectic menu, regardless of your preferred style. You may wish to put together some ideas and items you think you and your guests will enjoy. We can start there and offer more ideas to you until we come up with the perfect menu.
Parkhurst prepares all food — including stocks, sauces, and baked goods — onsite from scratch. Nothing they serve will come frozen or from a can.
Carthage does not permit pets, dogs, or otherwise, on campus without express permission. Service animals are always welcome and must be in uniform.
Carthage is proud to have several full-time chefs who have trained and worked in a diverse range of culinary traditions. They are happy to customize your food and beverage offerings to meet your needs. Bridal clients are able to use an outside vendor for wedding cakes. Cake cutting fees to apply.
We offer tastings only to clients with a signed contract, deposit, and completed a detailed meeting with a member of Carthage’s event team.
An event addendum is a highly detailed document that describes your event from arrival until departure. The document will detail in chronological order all of your outside vendors, event details, event space set-up, food and beverage selections, additional rentals, and pricing.
Depending on your event’s size, type, and date(s), you will have several deadlines to provide information about your event attendees, vendors, and miscellaneous details. Payment schedules are as follows:
- 10% due at contract signing (non-refundable).
- 40% due 90 days before the scheduled event (50% of this amount is refundable up to 30 days prior).
- For weddings and special events, the remaining balances are due seven (7) days before the event.
- For camp, conference, and corporate clients, the remaining balances are due 30 days after the conclusion of the scheduled event.
