Homecoming 2017 Festival Grounds and Tailgating Policy
Carthage invites and encourages alumni, parents, and friends to visit the Festival Grounds located on the south end of Keller Field. Student organizations will offer a wide array of food choices including brats, hamburgers, tacos, desserts, and various non-alcoholic beverages. Activities for children will include face painting and balloon artists. Please note: No alcohol will be available for sale, but you may carry in your own beverages to the tailgating area.
For Homecoming, there are two designated areas near Art Keller Field where alumni, parents, and friends may enjoy traditional tailgating activities. Please note: No alcohol will be available for sale, but you may carry in your own beverages to the tailgating area.
Area 1: Football Parent Groups
North of Keller Field, located adjacent to the Schmidt Baseball Field main entrance, there is an area designated for the football parent organizations from Carthage and the opposing team. The area is delineated with snow fencing. Reservations for this area are coordinated through the Office of the Director of Athletics. A CCIW Parents Pass is required for entrance. Bathrooms are available at the Schmidt Field concession stand.
Area 2: Alumni, Parents, and Friends
Located at the south end of Art Keller Field, the Carthage Office of Alumni and Parent Programs hosts a designated area for alumni and parents to gather for traditional tailgating. This area is delineated with double snow fencing. Reservations are not required for this area. No one under the age of 21 can be in the area unless accompanied by their parents. IDs are checked each time guests enter the area. Ice chests, food, and charcoal and gas grills are allowed. Portable bathrooms with sinks are available at the south end of Keller Field.
Following current tailgate policies for football games, these areas will open for individuals to enter two hours prior to the start of the game, and will close one hour after the end of the game or at the discretion of Carthage College.
