Families can enjoy fun and educational activities in Hedberg Library, browse the collection in the Center for Children’s Literature, and use the library computers.
Themed activities take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Families are welcome to use the library from 6 to 8 p.m. Please note that available activities vary, due to special events happening on campus, so please call ahead.

Physics of a Carnival
Why do roller coaster rides always start with a big hill? What rides use a centripetal force? What is Newton’s Law of Motion? Carthage’s Society of Physics Students will answer these questions about roller coasters and more at Family Fun Night. This event is suitable for children ages four and up.

Women of Science: Celebrate 150 Years of Carthage Women
This Family Fun Night will explore the impact of women in different fields of science, in honor of Carthage’s 150 Years of Women celebration. Several Carthage organizations will participate:
- Theta Chi Delta (Chemistry Club): Learn about Rosalind Franklin’s research in chemistry.
- Psi Chi Honors (Psychology Club): Find out how eye tracking works with research from Anne Treisman and Molly Potter.
- Gamma Nu Sigma (Neuroscience Academic Fraternity Club): Discover how the brain works and review notable women neuroscientists.
- Beta Beta Beta (Biology Honors Society): Examine biology as the study of all living things.
Admission to Friday Fun Night at Carthage is free.
Visitors are welcome to park in specially marked visitor spaces in the Lentz Hall Parking Lot or South Upper Parking Lot. Visitors may also park in the South Lower Lot, North Parking Lots, or Pike River Lot.
