New Alumni Convocation and Promenade Dinner
For graduates, trustees, faculty, staff
5:30 p.m. Convocation — A. F. Siebert Chapel
Dinner immediately following Convocation — Hedberg Library
This private, semi-formal program and dinner is a chance for graduates, trustees, faculty, and staff to say their goodbyes in a private, unique, and personal setting.
SATURDAY, MAY 26, 2018
11 a.m. — N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center Field House
Graduates are to assemble at 11 a.m. in the Field House for graduation practice.
Commencement Speaker Public Presentation
2 p.m. — A.F. Siebert Chapel
Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian and best-selling author Jon Meacham, the 2018 Commencement speaker, will offer a public presentation for graduates, families, faculty, staff, and the general public.
Carthage Baccalaureate: A Celebration of Learning and Wisdom
5 p.m. — A. F. Siebert Chapel
Baccalaureate is an interfaith program in which graduates have time to pause and reflect, faculty offer advice to the graduating class, and students’ musical talents are enjoyed. Graduates do not wear their caps and gowns for this program.
SUNDAY, MAY 27, 2018
10:15 a.m. — Commencement Line-up (Tarble Arena)
11 a.m. — N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center, Field House
The Commencement Ceremony includes the presentation of special awards, honorary degrees, and bachelor and master degrees. Tickets are required. Each graduate receives five commencement tickets. Best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian Jon Meacham will give the 2018 Commencement Address.
