The Carthage Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Professor James Ripley, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 in the A. F. Siebert Chapel.
This concert will start off The Carthage Wind Orchestra’s Midwest Tour. The ensemble will tour venues throughout Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. Previously, Carthage Wind Orchestra has toured both regionally and internationally, including performances in Japan and South America. Prof. James Ripley also conducts the Concert Band and chamber winds group AMATI. He is the principal guest conductor of Sakuyo Wind Orchestra at Sakuyo University in Kurashiki, Japan, and is the recipient of the 2012 Carlo A. Sperati for his outstanding work in the field of instrumental music education. With old Hollywood flair, the concert will include a silent film for which the Wind Orchestra will provide underscoring.
