‘The People Speak’: A New Social Justice Series

Join us from noon to 1 p.m., on Wednesday, March 14, in WOH’s Place (lower level of the TWC) for the second edition of “The People Speak,” a new series detailing the history of America from the perspective of the marginalized and oppressed. This edition looks at the history of slavery and its enduring impact on the African-American experience.

This edition looks at the history of slavery and its enduring impact on the African-American experience. Specific attention will be paid to The Middle Passage, how slavery formed the backbone of America’s economic rise to global prominence, and the still enduring legacy of slavery on America’s economic disparity today.

To understand where we are today, we must understand from where it is we came.
