Time: November 9
From Nov. 1-13, Carthage will welcome nearby high school choirs for the 2018 Lakeside Choral Festival.
Each year, the festival brings around 1,800 high school singers to work with Carthage’s accomplished musicians and get a taste of the college atmosphere. During the festival, local choirs are given the opportunity to work on their pieces with Carthage music faculty. The choirs attend 40-minute clinics, take campus tours, and can participate in an informal concert during which all choirs present their pieces, featuring a short performance by a Carthage ensemble.
The Carthage Music Department has been putting on the Lakeside Choral Festival for decades and the event has continued to grow each year. This year, each day brings around 500 high school students to the campus. The festival gives students an opportunity to receive top notch instruction and perform for their peers, all while building a cohesive choral sound.
Days of the Festival include Nov. 1, 5, 7, 9, and 13.
This event is not open for public viewing. For more information, contact the Fine Arts Administrative Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 262-551-5859.
