The Theatre Department will host a free dance master class with American Dance Legacy Initiative (ADLI) master teacher and repertory company member, Lisa Nevada, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 in the TARC Dance Studio (2235).
The master class will introduce students to featured choreographer, Robert Battle, through movement principles, motifs, and other themes present in his work. The class will be rooted in the early modern technique lineages of Martha Graham and Paul Taylor as well as other influences expressed in Battle’s dynamic works. Class exercises will reflect these styles and may also feature repertory threads from the Battleworks Etude, which will be presented in the upcoming dance concert, “Resonate.”
The class is recommended for students who have completed a level I technique course at Carthage, or who have previous dance experience. To register for this class, please complete the following form:
