Mental Health and Suicide Awareness for Athletes

Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm CDT April 17

Location: David A. Straz, Jr. Center 163

Hannah Zuchowski, graduate assistant for the Carthage women’s volleyball team, will present an informational session on mental health and suicide for part of her master’s thesis project at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 in DSC 163.

This is a close topic for Hannah as her cousin, Audrey, died from suicide a year ago. Hannah would really like to bring awareness to mental health and suicide and get feedback on what the athletes may need to be supported within the athletic department.

Hannah will talk about suicide and the five mental health disorders among college students and hand out resources. The goal of this session is to bring awareness to topics many people do not talk about and get feedback on how we can improve our talk here at Carthage.
