Postcolonial Feminism Talk with Zahira Kelly-Cabrera

Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm CST February 18

Location: Campbell Student Union Auditorium

To kick off the celebration of 25 years of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Carthage, we invited Zahira Kelly-Cabrera to come and give a talk on postcolonial feminism.

Ms. Kelly-Cabrera is an Afro-Dominican writer, singer/songwriter, DJ, visual artist, and inspiring speaker. She has been featured in several publications, including the “New York Times,” “BBC,” and “Time.” Her talks employ indigenous style story-telling, analyze social power dynamics, and critique media and pop culture.

Carthage’s Treble Choir will provide music at the opening and closing of the event, and refreshments will be provided. Come hear a creative speaker and help us celebrate the 2020 as the 25th Anniversary of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program!
