Time: September 8 - October 15
Location: H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art
Join us for the art exhibit “Natural History” from Wednesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Oct. 15, in the H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art.
Iris Bernblum’s work explores ideas around human nature, power, and vulnerability, focusing on the way we frame our sense of self as it relates to gender, sexuality, shame, and desire. Jessie Mott’s practice encompasses painting, drawing, collage, sculptural objects, video and installation that speak to a dreamlike or nightmarish quality of fantasy and the grotesque.
Attend the opening reception for this exhibit from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in the H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art.
The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Extended hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. All art exhibits are free and open to the public. View the #StaySafeCarthage Fine Arts Events page for safety protocols.
