2021 Kick-Off Days

Carthage will kick off the 2021-22 school year with several days of special events for all students. Be sure to join the fun! All events are free for students.

Playfair (New Students Only)
8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4
TARC Field House

Get to know other incoming freshmen and orientation leaders through this interactive show! Completely led by a team of professionals, the Playfair is the best way to interact with new students.

VIP Night with Nick Thomas (New Students Only)
8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5
Campbell Student Union

Join us for food, fun, and entertainment in the Campbell Student Union! Watch juggler Nick Thomas perform live while sampling snacks from the vendors in the CSU food court and visiting the bookstore for textbooks and new Carthage gear.

Chapel Night
8-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7
A. F. Siebert Chapel

Enjoy music by Grayson DeWolfe, free food from local food trucks, and some fun games! It’s a night you don’t want to miss!

Kick-off Carnival
8-11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9
Oaks Circle

Come out for a night in the Oaks Circle for some fun karaoke, free food, entertaining activities, and wire writing!

Kazual and Pizza-Palooza
8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10
TARC Circle

Enjoy some locally-made pizza while listening to the a cappella group Kazual! Dancing, eating, singing, and more!

Diversity Beach Party
5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13
Behind The Tower

Hang out and play some volleyball with the diversity, equity, and inclusion student organizations.

Involvement Fair
4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15
Campus Drive

Mix, mingle with some of Carthage’s many organizations, and learn how to get involved during Carthage Kick-off Days.

Aspire Center Open House
4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16
The Aspire Center (Lentz Hall)

The Aspire Center is excited to welcome students, faculty, and staff to tour our renovated space, meet new staff, and enjoy light refreshments. You’re welcome to swing through at any point between 4 and 5:30 p.m. with some surprise door prizes throughout the event!

Spirit Bingo
9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16
Todd Wehr Center

Join us for the first Bingo of the year. Meet new students and play to win prizes!

SummerFest Bus Trip (registration required)
5 p.m.-midnight Friday, Sept. 17
Milwaukee, Wis.

Get in, we’re going to Milwaukee for SummerFest! Join the Carthage Activities Board and for a once-in-a-lifetime Summerfest fall experience. Please note: pre-registration is held on Friday, Sept. 10. Questions? Contact CAB at cab@carthage.edu.

Comedian Gianmarco Soresi
8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18
Campbell Student Union Auditorium

Gianmarco’s stand up has been featured on Netflix’s “Bonding,” PBS’ “Stories from the Stage,” SeeSo’s “New York’s Funniest,” “Real Housewives of New York,” “NY1,” “New York LIVE,” “Vanity Fair,” “George Takei Presents,” and he was the winner of Amazon’s “Comics Watching Comics” season 8.

Center for Faith and Spirituality Student Dinner
5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19
Todd Wehr Center Jockey Room B

Meet other Carthage students and the Center for Faith and Spirituality (CFS) student staff. Hear about CFS programs and involvement opportunities, such as weekly Interfaith Lunch, SPIRIT Worship, Catholic Mass, the fall blood drive, Just Lunch, and more. All are welcome, but students must reserve a spot for the dinner. RSVP
