Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm CDT November 4
Location: Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Rooms
Join us for a Braver Angels debate from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Todd Wehr Center Jockey Rooms. Held in the style of “seeking truth, not victory,” this debate will focus on whether “America’s history of racism should be a focal point in our history curriculum.”
Braver Angels, the nationwide grassroots group working to depolarize our national conversation, continues to expand in Wisconsin and at Carthage. This year, the group plans to increase campus presence and engagement and even host some events in person.
A group of faculty, staff, and student leaders, both Blue and Red, met over the summer to discuss what activities would be most meaningful in creating bridges and connections in the Carthage community. The intention of the group is to make depolarization and civil engagement part of the common culture at Carthage.
