Visiting Writers: Joel Craig, Nathan Hoks

Carthage welcomes authors Joel Craig and Nathan Hoks on Tuesday, Oct. 1, for the first event in the 2013-14 Visiting Writers Series. The event will be held at 7 p.m. in Niemann Media Theatre.

Joel Craig is a poet, editor at Make Magazine, and co-founder and curator of the acclaimed Danny’s Reading Series in Chicago. He will read from his new book, The White House, published by Green Lantern Press.

Nathan Hoks is the author of two books of poetry: Reveilles and The Narrow Circle, which won the 2012 National Poetry Series Award, recently published by Penguin. Mr. Hoks also translates poetry, teaches at Columbia College, and works as an editor and letterpress printer for Convulsive Editions, a micro-press that publishes chapbooks and broadsides.

The writers will take questions after the readings, and will be available to sign books.
