Looking for a J-Term class? Did you know you can travel in June and it counts as a J-Term trip*? There are still spots open for the “Sports Journalism: Baseball” trip to California in June 2014.

Course Description:

Students will learn and practice variety of journalistic writing styles and engage in sports journalism as they attend baseball games in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, California.

We will attend Padres, Dodgers, Angels, Giants and Athletics games — a total of five games over two weeks (June 5-17).

Other professional athletic events and stadium tours, as well as non-sports-related cultural activities and museums, will also be optional activities on the study tour. The course is designated as Writing Intensive.

Cost of the trip is estimated at $1500.

Anyone interested should contact Jonathan Bruning, an associate professor of communication and digital media.

* June trips can be credited as a January Term class, giving a student the option of taking January off, or of taking an additional class or internship during January (although in that case, tuition would need to be paid for an extra 4 credit course, just like an overload or summer course).
