Are you interested in beginning to learn, or advancing your ability in a language of critical need? The Critical Language Scholarship Program aims to increase the number and diversity of U.S. students who undertake study of languages including Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, Russian, and Turkish.

The grant covers airfare, room and board, courses, activities, and a stipend. Its summer programs are the equivalent of one full year of college language study. Recent recipients include Ben Simington ’15 (Hindi), Gabs Swansgstue ’18 (Japanese) and Anesce Dremen ’17 (Chinese).

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Nov. 16 for summer 2017 programs. You are highly encouraged to consult with Dan Choffnes, campus advisor, as you prepare your application materials.
