Northern Illinois University history professor Kenton Clymer will give a lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in Jockey Room B of the Todd Wehr Center. The lecture will focus on American foreign diplomacy under Secretary of State John Hay.

John Hay served as Secretary of State from 1898 to 1905 under Presidents William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt.

In addition to his expertise on John Hay, Prof. Clymer has written on modern American diplomatic concerns such as American policy toward India’s independence and a two-volume history of American relations with Cambodia.

Prof. Clymer currently serves as Distinguished Research Professor of History at Northern Illinois University. Recently, he was a fellow at the The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.
