Michael Anderle ‘15 placed third in the Junior Men’s Division in the recent statewide voice competition sponsored by the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. This annual competition draws together the finest young singers from nearly all of the colleges and universities around the state.

“It is incredibly exciting whenever a singer from as small a school as Carthage advances in a competition like this,” said Gregory Berg, assistant professor of music and Anderle’s voice teacher. “I could not be prouder of Mike or of the other singers who participated in this year’s competition and represented Carthage so very well.”

Anderle’s piano accompanist for the competition was Fumi Nakayama. In the finals, Anderle sang “Die Wetterfahne” by Schubert, “Honors and Arms” by Handel, and “Rollicum Rorum” by Finzi.
