WSGC is pleased to announce, we have awarded three two-year students a Fall Undergraduate Scholarship. Eight students applied to the program. Each awardee received a $2,000 scholarship to be applied to their Spring 2017 academic pursuits. Students attending one of WSGC Affiliate campuses full-time may apply for a Spring Undergraduate Scholarship which will be applied to the 2017-2018 academic year.  Applications are due February 6th, 2017.

Meet the Fall 2016-2017 Undergraduate Scholars:

Tyler Rasmussen, UW-Fox Valley
Tyler Rasmussen is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He presently holds a position in parcel recovery for various airlines at the Austin Straubel and Appleton International Airports. Tyler has been elected president of the 2016-2017 Chemistry Club and is a member of the Engineering Club. In his free time, he employs his mechanical aptitude by customizing his car. After attaining his bachelor’s degree, he plans to further his education in areas such as astrophysics, chemistry, and nanotechnology. Tyler plans to utilize his education by working in the aerospace industry.

Ryan Kisiolek, UW-Sheboygan
Ryan Kisiolek is a nontraditional, first-generation college student.  He is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan, majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Chemistry. He returned to school after working in staging and construction for 15 years. Ryan sits as a student government officer and the Astronomy Club president. Ryan participated in RockSat during Summer 2016. As a result, he leads the UW-Sheboygan RockSat-C team. He is looking forward to continuing work in biology and space related studies.

Rickie Dodge, College of Menominee Nation
Rickie Lee Dodge is a sophomore at the College of Menominee Nation. She is studying Pre-Environmental Engineering Technology and Business Administration. She hopes to graduate this spring with both degrees. After finishing at CMN, she plans to transfer to a University of Wisconsin campus to earn a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Rickie is the AISES club president, as well as the First Nations Launch High-Powered Rocket team lead. She is involved in one fellowship: Women in STEM series seminars. Rickie does other campus research and takes online classes for renewable energy. She works part-time as a tutor. In her free time, Rickie likes to relax and help others.
