The Chemistry Department at Carthage College invites applications for a tenure-track position in organic chemistry starting in August 2018. A Ph.D. is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates from all areas of organic chemistry are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join an ACS-approved department and will teach Organic and General Chemistry, as well as courses in one’s area of expertise. Additional requirements include a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research, submission of grant proposals, and the establishment of a productive research program with undergraduates.

The Carthage Chemistry Department is ACS-approved and is housed in a newly expanded and renovated science center. New instrumentation includes a 400-MHz NMR, GC-MS, GC, MP-AES, HPLC, and IC. The College offers small class sizes, start-up funds for research, and the opportunity to work closely with undergraduates in both the classroom and laboratory.
