On behalf of the leadership of the Student Government, the Staff Council, and the Academic Senate, President Swallow invites all students, faculty, and staff to a community gathering titled “Respect and Dignity at Carthage: A Community Conversation.” This gathering will be a kickoff event for a series of activities this spring that will offer students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to have frank conversations about sensitive topics, while acknowledging that none of us has all of the answers.

The event will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, in A. F. Siebert Chapel, and will conclude no later than 1:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The event will start with brief remarks from President Swallow, and then students, faculty, and staff will be invited to break into small groups to discuss and share. Groups will be facilitated by Michele Hancock, our Director of Equity and Inclusion; Roger Moreano, Assistant Director of Student Involvement for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs; and members of the Equity and Inclusion Committee.

RSVP deadline is today! Although not required, your RSVP is highly appreciated.

Sign up to join the conversation.
