Housing sign-up for 2018-19 is swiftly approaching! All current residential students should sign up for housing Tuesday, April 3 through Friday, April 6. Here’s what you need to know:

Residency policy
Only students who will achieve senior status, 102 earned credits or higher, as of May 2018 are eligible to live off campus next year. Students with senior status wishing to live off campus next year should not sign up for housing. All students with less than 102 credits are required to sign up for housing.

Logging in to sign up for housing
The housing sign-up portal is in your my.carthage.edu portal. Over the next week, students should log in and make sure all their personal information is correct. If any information is incorrect, they should contact the Office of Residential Life at housing@carthage.edu to have it correct prior to housing sign-up.

On-campus apartment housing option
The on-campus apartments are a part of housing sign-up as well! Apartments are triple spaces. Students will need to have a group of three to secure an apartment. The apartments feature a full kitchen, living room, and bath. The apartment residents are responsible for their own internet and cable set-up and charges.

“The Tower” — New housing option!
There are two different types of rooms available in the new residence hall, “The Tower.” There are a few single rooms available, as well as a double room with a bathroom connecting it to an adjoining double room. Students are able to send a roommate request for the space in the double room in which they select. The adjoining double room with access via the bathroom is treated as a separate room for this year’s housing sign-up. The few single rooms in the Tower will end with the numbers “03.” Rooms ending in an odd number 03, 05, 07 have a few of the entire campus. Rooms ending in an even number 06, 08, 10 have a lake view.

Planning on living in The Oaks?
Please remember there are two room styles in The Oaks. Single suite rooms have two single bedrooms and a shared outer area with a bathroom and vanity. These rooms end in an A or B designation and are numbered ending in 01, 02, 03, 11, 12, or 13. Double rooms are one big bedroom for two roommates to share, with a bathroom. Double rooms are numbered ending in either 00 or 14. Be sure to choose your Oaks room carefully!

Roommate requests
The online housing sign-up module has a roommate request system built in. You can enter a request for a roommate(s) as a communication tool for double, triple, or quad rooms. The system will send your requested roommate(s) an email letting them know you have requested to live with them next year. Your requested roommate must log in at their credit hour sign-up time to accept the invitation. Invitations are only guaranteed if the space remains available until your requested roommate’s sign-up time. All roommate requests expire at the end of housing sign-up at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 6.
