Asian Pacific American Coalition of Carthage: MAPS Program

3-4 p.m. – Jockey B, Todd Wehr Center
Learn more about Asian and Pacific Islander heritage from APACC.

Black Student Union: ‘The Soul of Black Poetry’
8-9 p.m. – WOH’s Place, Todd Wehr Center
Open mic! All are welcome to read their own original poetry or read poetry of famous black poets!

TUESDAY, APRIL 24

Java & Justice Social Justice Discussion Series: ‘The Model Minority Myth’
4-5 p.m. – WOH’s Place, Todd Wehr Center
Learn about stereotypes of Asian Americans and how to create more understanding around these issues.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25

Students Against Sexism in Society: ‘Girl Rising’ Film Screening and Discussion
7-9 p.m. – Niemann Media Theater, Hedberg Library
See the inspiring story of young girls all around the world breaking down stereotypes and fighting for the right to receive an education.

THURSDAY, APRIL 26

LGBTQSA: ‘Out in the Workplace’ with Career Services
5-6 p.m. – WOH’s Place, Todd Wehr Center

Latinx United: Intersectional Progress Celebration
5 p.m.-midnight – Jockey A&B, Todd Wehr Center
Spend an evening celebrating diversity at Carthage. This event will include informational workshops, inspiring speeches, fun events and a DJ. Bring your dancing shoes!

FRIDAY, APRIL 27

1G: Slogans, Stories, and Sandwiches
5-6 p.m. – Jockey B, Todd Wehr Center
Learn all about the first-generation student experience.

United Women of Color: Flavors of Culture
6-8 p.m. – Jockey B, Todd Wehr Center
UWC hosts this event to showcase diversity within the community of women of color. Members will share stories and offer dance lessons.

SATURDAY, APRIL 28

Office of Student Involvement: Field Trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum
9 a.m.-4 p.m.
