Carthage College seeks a Transfer Coordinator for the Office of the Registrar. Under the direction of the Registrar, the Transfer Coordinator is responsible for reviewing external course credit as it relates to Carthage courses and the official Carthage College transcript. The individual in this role will work with departmental and divisional representatives to oversee the institutional transfer credit policy including the application of transfer credit from alternate institutions, advanced placement credit, credit by examination, and credit for advanced standing. The Transfer Coordinator is also responsible for annual FERPA training and outreach to the campus community. The person in this role must have excellent customer service skills, be able to collaborate across departments, and embrace the use of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee institutional transfer credit, advanced standing, and advanced placement credit; act as Institutional liaison for FERPA and annual FERPA training
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of student transfer credit reports
  • Participate in graduation processing
  • Utilize the computer system (Jenzabar CX) and reporting tool (Cognos) to maintain student records
  • Work as a team with the college Registrar and staff on projects as assigned
  • Assist with the planning and development of team initiatives
  • Provide excellent customer service to all members of the Carthage community
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • At least two years of experience in a higher education setting or similar environment, as well as demonstrated commitment to student-centered services
  • Comfort and experience working with technology, independently, in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with the practices of FERPA compliance and demonstrated ability to work in a confidential environment

Required skills and abilities

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with OnBase, Jenzabar products, Cognos, and Tableau are beneficial, but not required
