Professor Leslie Cameron, psychological science; Professor Mark Mahoney, computer science; and Professor Joy Mast, geospatial science, have been awarded Carthage’s inaugural Wagner Teaching Fellowships, supported by the Wagner Fund for Faculty Development Endowment. Fellows were selected through a competitive application process. They will engage in a yearlong affiliation with the Teaching Commons which will include inquiry and exploration of new pedagogical practices, implementation, and evaluation of new practices in their classes, and sharing of new knowledge with colleagues.

Stipends and project budgets for fellows are provided by the Wagner Fund, which recognizes the contributions of Herbert “Hub” Wagner ’25, a star athlete who later served Carthage as a head coach, athletic director, and professor of history, and his wife, Olive Torgeson Wagner, who served as dean of women. Mr. Wagner received the Carthage Distinguished Alumni Award in 1983 and was inducted into the Carthage Hall of Fame in 1984. The Wagner Fund was established by Axel C. and Ann Wagner Bundgaard.
