Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) Exercise and Sport Science, Athletic Training

The Exercise and Sports Science Department at Carthage College, a private liberal arts college, invites applications to fill a vacant Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). The expected start date is in fall 2019.

The position requires the ability and willingness to regularly teach athletic training classes in administration, pharmacology, field placement, and athletic training practicum classes. The CEC position requires the applicant to also supervise student clinical progression, clinical site evaluations, student evaluations, preceptor training and evaluation of preceptors who supervise Carthage students. interested in teaching. The position will entail a partial teaching load, with release time to perform the responsibilities of the CEC position. Participation in the activities of the department, division, and the College, mentoring students, commitment to scholarship/professional activities, and service to the College will be required.

Minimum education and experience required

• Ed.D., Ph.D., or DAT and 3-5 years relevant professional experience
• A successful candidate must combine teaching and clinical expertise in the field of athletic training education and provide evidence of effectiveness in these areas to be considered for this position
