Since 2014, the President’s Leadership Council has recognized and engaged alumni, parents, and friends who are highly invested in advancing the strategic priorities of the College and strengthening its ties to the greater Carthage community.

Council members contribute as leaders through philanthropic giving, advocacy, and volunteer engagement and are offered high-level, exclusive opportunities to interact with senior leadership, including the President, deans, faculty members, coaches, and others to offer input on new initiatives and progress toward ongoing priority initiatives.

Membership is by invitation from the College President for terms of three years, which can be renewed. As philanthropic role models, members meet giving and engagement requirements. Currently numbering 18, a number of past PLC members have gone on to become College Trustees, including Patrick Anderson ’85, David Wiers ’98, and Tom Kelley ’99. Fred Krull ’83 currently serves as chair of the council.

Giving from members in FY17 totaled just over $64,000, and giving from this group in FY18 already exceeds $110,000. Members have provided additional leadership in a variety of ways, including helping to solicit support for the Tower Residence Hall, issuing giving challenges for the Giving Day event, speaking at career networking events, and identifying others who are willing to provide similar support.
