On this study tour, students will travel to Spain’s capital city of Madrid to spend three full weeks living with host families and attending morning classes at a Spanish language school. The three hours of daily Spanish instruction will be equally divided between language and cultural classes. Students will also participate in structured language exchanges with native Spanish students arranged by the language school. Afternoons will be devoted to cultural activities including visits to museums, tourist attractions, and myriad sites of historical and religious importance. Throughout their stay, students will have countless opportunities to use and improve their Spanish language skills on a daily basis while interacting with native Spaniards in a variety of situations and settings. Also, students will learn about the country’s rich historical and cultural past, as well as current events in Spain. The course is designed as a three-week study abroad immersion experience, therefore students are required to use only Spanish the entire time.
