Think you have Carthage spirit or know someone who does? Apply or nominate someone you know for this year’s Homecoming Court. Applications and nominations are out now!

In order to be on Homecoming Court this year, graduating seniors will be able to apply, and students will be able to nominate graduating seniors to apply for Homecoming Court.

Apply to be on Homecoming Court. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17.

Any student, faculty, or staff can nominate a graduating senior through the nomination link. You can also receive the link to the nomination link by emailing CAB@carthage.eduCarthage Activities Board (CAB) will then inform the senior that they were nominated by someone anonymously and will be prompted to fill out the Homecoming Court application. All nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17.

Homecoming Court members are chosen based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at Carthage College. The Homecoming Court selection process begins with the online nomination and application. Students do not need to be nominated in order to apply. Based on application scores and GPA, a limited number of individual interviews are offered and conducted by Carthage College faculty, staff, alumni, and CAB representatives. The scores from the interview are combined with the student body vote, and the court is announced. The Homecoming King and Queen are selected by a student body vote.

The top five males and females with the highest cumulative point values from the student voting, application, and interview process will make up Homecoming Court. The Student Body will vote from the top ten for the Homecoming King and Queen from Monday, Sept. 24 through Wednesday, Sept. 26, and the King and Queen will be announced at the Pep Rally at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28.

Homecoming Court must be available for the following events:

  • Homecoming Kick-Off Event — 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24
  • Homecoming Pep Rally — 6:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28
  • Homecoming Parade and Halftime Show — 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29

Candidates must be full-time, undergraduate students, must be currently enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, and expected to graduate in winter 2018 or spring 2019. Candidates must hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and cannot currently be on academic probation. No academic or disciplinary infractions can occur during the duration of the process through Homecoming, and can ultimately result in termination of an individual’s application.
