Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is a national program sponsored by the IRS and United Way. The VITA informational meeting is from 11:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 in Clausen 106.

As a VITA volunteer, you can learn basic tax code, become certified with the IRS, and prepare taxes for low to moderate income families in the Kenosha Community. Last year, the Kenosha VITA program logged over 2,600 service hours and assisted over 1,100 families.

New this year, students are able to register for a 1-credit VITA service-learning course this spring semester. This course will enhance the volunteer experience providing opportunity to learn more about the socio-economics of our clients and time to reflect on your experience.

No experience is necessary, and all majors and years in school are welcome!
