Congratulations to Mark Snavely on being elected Governor of the Wisconsin Section of the Mathematical Association of America.

Prof. Snavely has served for a number of years as the Treasurer of the Wisconsin Section of the MAA and only recently consented to stand for election to the Governing Board.

The MAA is the leading professional association in collegiate mathematics, and election to its board is a testament to Prof. Snavely’s long record of service in math education and to his reputation in the national mathematics community.

Prof. Snavely is the second Carthage faculty member to serve on the governing board of the MAA. Prof. Charlotte Chell served as Chairperson of the Wisconsin Section from 1993 to 1994, as Governor of the Wisconsin Section from 1994 to 1997, and then served as Chair of the National Membership Committee of the MAA during the late 1990s.
