The Computer Science Department has been able to hire a third full-time faculty member. As such, we have added two courses to our Fall 2019 schedule.

First, if you are looking for a fun taste of computer science, consider CSC 1100. It meets from 2:50 to 3:55 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. CSC 1100 is a gentler introduction to coding in the Python language. Our goal is that if you take one and only one CS course, you leave being able to do some basic yet useful programming in your own field. Motivating examples include a program to make MP3 playlists, capture video, and perform calculations found in various majors. CSC 1100 does not count toward a computer science major or minor and is intended for interested novices.

Second, a new section of CSC 1810 has been added. This is the first course in the computer science major and minor sequence. The new section also meets from 2:50 to 3:55 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If you are considering a computer science major or minor it is important for you to take this course in a fall term so as to remain in sync with our program.
