Eighteen Carthage students are teaching English at the Chaoyang International Experimental School in the city of Yiyang in Hunan Province. Their two-week teaching experience is part of a four-week study tour dealing with English language education in China. Students are living with families of their students while they teach in Yiyang.

The study tour also includes visits to schools and interactions with students and teachers in Shanghai and Nanjing, as well as a tour of Beijing, a hike along the Great Wall, and a visit to the national heritage site at Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province.

The month-long class will end on Thursday, July 4, and is taught by Carthage professors Jun Wang of the Education Department and Edward Montanaro of the Modern Languages Department and Economics Department.
