Carthage welcomes new trustee, president of Lee Plumbing Mechanical Contractors, Inc.

Bob Lee Jr.Bob Lee Jr.Carthage has appointed Bob Lee Jr., longtime president of Lee Plumbing Mechanical Contractors, Inc. in Kenosha, to the Board of Trustees.

The year after his father founded the company, Mr. Lee joined the staff in 1977 as a plumber’s apprentice. Since Bob Lee Jr. took over as president and owner in 1985, the firm has grown into a full-service mechanical contractor that employs more than 135 workers. The Kenosha Area Business Alliance honored him as Entrepreneur of the Year in its 2016 Ovation Awards.

Among a variety of philanthropic efforts in the region, Mr. Lee and his family have provided significant financial support for the Carthage athletic program and other college initiatives. In 2017, Bob Lee Sr. received Carthage’s “New Town” Award, which recognizes outstanding civic leadership in the building of better communities.

“The commitment Bob Lee Jr. has shown to Kenosha and its people is second to none,” said President John Swallow. “I know he will provide valuable advice and counsel to ensure that Carthage’s partnerships in the community are ever deeper, ever more meaningful in the lives of our students and Kenoshans. We are thrilled that he has joined our board.”

In 2016, Mr. Lee, along with Joe Madrigrano helped establish the Shirley Madrigrano and Natalie Lee Performing & Visual Arts Foundation supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha. He also serves on the board for Froedtert South hospital system and the Plan Commission in Somers.

A graduate of Bradford High School in Kenosha, Mr. Lee and his wife, Linda, have three children.
