Do you have used batteries? Toner or ink cartridges? Cell phones or laptops? If you need to dispose of these responsibly, bring them to the library, and they will be recycled, and some of the items will help us raise money for green projects.

At Hedberg Library, we have containers to collect items that shouldn’t be thrown in the trash and should be recycled carefully. Please bring to us:

  • Batteries — anything from AA to 9volt to laptop and rechargables
  • Working or dead cell phones, tablets, laptops
  • Used (or even new) toner and/or ink cartridges

If you have other common recyclables — aluminum cans, plastic, glass, paper, clean cardboard — you can put these into ANY recycling container on campus. Carthage uses “single stream” recycling, which means that all recyclables are collected together and then sorted at a remote recycling site.
