Writing Fellows can visit your classes
Writing Fellows have been busy in the Writing Center this semester meeting with student writers, but we’d love to see more of them. You can encourage your students to take advantage of this free campus resource by inviting fellows into your classroom to share a little about what we do.
Our visits can be a brief (5-10 minute) introduction to the Writing Center where the fellows share our philosophy, give an overview of our policies, and field questions about what it is like to meet with a fellow. We can also provide a longer (30-minute) workshop on any of the following topics:
- Writing Thesis Statements
- Integrating Evidence into Your Writing
- Building an Argument and Recognizing Alternative Points of View
- How to Organize an Academic Paper
- Titles, Introductions, and Conclusions
- Formatting an MLA Paper
- Formatting an APA Paper
- Tips for Proofreading Your Writing
If you are interested in having Writing Fellows visit your classroom, please contact the director of the Writing Center and let us know what you are interested in and when our visit fits into your class schedule. Book a visit.
