Carthage Mock Trial team competes in final invitational tournament

Carthage Mock Trial competed in its third invitational tournament of the fall 2019-20 season at Illinois State University Nov. 8-10. Two team members won awards. Micah Pahl ’21 won an Outstanding Attorney Award for the second straight time with a perfect score of 20. Jonathan Allen ’22 also won his second Outstanding Witness Award of the season.

The team competes in its final invitational tournament the weekend of Nov. 23-24 at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The invitational tournament season resumes the weekend of Jan. 24-26 at Loras University in Dubuque, Iowa.

The team is coached by Professor Michael Phegley, of the Marketing and Management Department, with the assistance of Loren Keating, Kenosha County court commissioner, and attorney Margaret Johnson. Maham Ali ’19 and Joshua Kundert ’19 are graduate assistant coaches of this year’s teams. Professor Helene DeGross, of the Communications and Digital Media Department, is also instrumental in the team’s development and success each season. Additionally, Professor Art Cyr and those who work at the A. W. Clausen Center for World Business continue to provide support at each tournament and throughout the season.
