As we look forward to the spring semester, it is important to note a change in the add/drop deadlines that will start this spring.

  • Classes begin Wednesday, Feb. 5.
  • The open add/drop period (which is when students can make adjustments to their schedule on their own through the my.carthage portal) runs up until Feb. 12.

The restricted add/drop period will run from Thursday, Feb. 13 until Wednesday, Feb. 19. This period will follow these rules:

During the restricted add/drop period, students need instructor permission to add a course. In order to add during this period, students should get an email from the course instructor noting that they are allowed to add during the restricted add period. This email should be brought to the Office of the Registrar in order to register for the course. If students wish to drop a course during the restricted add/drop period, this must be done through the registrar’s office (instructor permission is not needed to drop a course).

The time period during which students can make changes to their spring schedule on their own is being shortened. This means that students will want to have their spring schedule set as soon as possible.
